Hawaii Five-O Steve McGarrett plushieby *eitanya

It seems so rare that I do something not-video-game-related, lol.

I give you Steve McGarrett from the new Hawaii Five-O! I admit I don't watch the show, but staring at reference pictures of this fellow for a week wasn't exactly torture.

Fairly simple plushie but I like how the few little details seemed to nail the character, like the half-tucked shirt and the bits of gray hair on the sides.

12" tall, fleece and knit materials with foam sheet badge and gun. Face was hand-painted with fabric paint.

I've collected some helpful tutorials in my favorites section. Beyond that...hmm, let's see. Fleece is a great material, it hides a multitude of sins. Don't be afraid to try things, and don't be afraid to make mistakes! You can learn a lot from screwing up.

Felt is great, especially if you're hand-sewing. The stretchiness in fleece can be a lifesaver, though.
