Sooo...when Amazon sent me one of their eerily accurate targeted ads (you know the ones I'm talking about, where you can tell they've been tracking your every click) with a fancy-schmancy sewing machine on mega-sale, I finally talked myself into it. I am now the proud owner of a Brother SE400, which does a million and one things including small areas of embroidery. I have no idea how to use it. I'm making my way through the instructional video five minutes at a time, lol. Anyway, so excited! I can't wait to see what I can use it for on the plushies.
On a somewhat related note (I thought I would be justified in getting this sucker if I got rid of something else) I'm selling my 1.5" button machine and punch. If anyone would be interested, please let me know! I've literally only made about 25 buttons with the thing, I never had time to design anything for the larger size. It's the same set-up I've been using for the 1" size and I've made over 20,000 of those, so it's definitely a quality machine! The punch is one of the heavy-duty ones that doesn't kill your hands, and I have 400+ parts for pinbacks and 40 keychains to go with it. All told I paid upwards of $400 for all of it, I'll let it go for $300 to a fellow Deviant.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go find a deserted field and a baseball bat...
OOH! Almost forgot. Thanks so much to my awesome fellow plush artist

I never mastered the art of using a sewing machine... they intimidate me...
