Make great art.

I've been feeling a little stressed lately.  Prototypes and deadlines and changing job situations and a walking baby can do that to you.  My husband found this totally amazing commencement speech from Neil Gaiman and it made my day, so I though I would share: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikAb-N… love what he says about feeling like you're getting away with something if you're doing what you love.  I completely get that feeling, I just forget to enjoy it sometimes.  So today I'm resolving to enjoy it.  :D  Thank you to everyone here who has ordered some of my work or been so kind with your comments.  You all keep me going!

On that note, if any of my fellow Dragon Age fans would like free digital comic, I have a code for the first issue of The Silent Grove.  I already have the whole run so I don't need it.  :)  Good stuff!  The code is JWPY5HKY, go to Dark Horse Digital to redeem it.  First person to use it please leave a comment here so everyone knows it's taken. (EDIT: TAKEN?)

The code came with my copy of Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker.  Anyone else see it yet?  I was a little underwhelmed.  I wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either.  Meh.  Neat little note, though: if you watch the Bioware tour they have on there, you can see some of kinbari's plushies sitting around on the desks.

Hope everyone is well!  Remember, make great art.  :D

Except a jumping hook-kick. I never could do that.

Me neither...I couldn't jump to save my life, much to my wushu-loving sensei's dismay. XD I can hop like a bunny, though!

Hey, fellow-martial-artist high five! :highfive: Yeah, I imagine that would be a bigger problem in wushu than it was in Shotokan, hehe. I remember thinking, "I'm almost 6 feet tall, when on earth am I going to need to jump to kick someone in the head?" :P

Oh my, you're tall! Jump-kicking people in the head is more for flash, anyway. ;D I had other people do that in demonstrations, I was just the choreographer/captain. Hehe.

Yeah, I'm 5'11" so people always ask if I play basketball, lol.

Thankfully my sensei never made a huge deal of my inability to get everything off the ground and rotating in the same direction. Shotokan is many things, but rarely flashy. ;)

I've always wanted to find a good Shotokan dojo, it's a lot more in line with how I fight. I also learned a fair bit of katana from my jack-of-all-trades sensei, so I'd love to pick up kendo/iaido if I can, as well.

Now, my back is messed up enough I can't even bear the thought of trying wushu ever again. XD

Ah katana, that's one I never learned that I really wanted to. I loved weapons training. Nunchakus were my favorite.

I really want to get back into some kind of martial art. The Fibromyalgia made me quit but I never lost the bug.
